GUY TORRY'S national TV debut as a Stand Up Comedian was on HBO's RUSSELL SIMMON'S DEF COMEDY JAM. This is the show that inspired GUY to do stand up and it was when. his big brother JOE TORRY took over hosting from MARTIN LAWRENCE.

It was great to appear and guest host on this show. It's important that Black comedians have these platforms to showcase our art. Like HBO did with Def Coomedy Jam, BET help usher in some great Black talent. They both certainly inspired me to create Phat Tuesdays.

I love the name of this show. I can't think of a better and most fitting name for Black Comedy. When Doug Williams came up with this idea, I thought it was Genius. It allowed us to be ourselves say whatever the FUCK we wanted. That's having rights. I had a great time doing this show.

Comedy Undergrowth series was feeling a void in the Black Comedy showcase market because there were other place at the time that was showcasing Black Comedians. There was no Def Comedy Jam or Comic. View. I'm glad that they were there to pick up the ball and run with Black comedy.

A show I should have NEVER been on. The show was truly beneath the body of work I had already built. I listened to idiots and agreed to do the show and it was a complete disaster. It was not in my will house. I had a horrible time and the BIGGEST regret of my career. I take full blame.

LAST COMIC STANDING
I had the pleasure of doing stand up on The Jimmy Kimmel show twice. Both times were within a same day or one day notice. Not weeks to prepare and practice, just "you're on". That's why it pays to stay ready. Great guests on both shows, my Laker idol Magic Johnson was on the first time I did the show and Dodger Manager Tommy Lasorta and Mike Tyson were both won the second.

Nick was discovered at my Phat Tuesdays comedy night. PT showcased comedians to t he industry. Nice gives Phat Tuesdays credit for inspiring him to create Wild'N Out which showcased comedians. When you plant a seed, that's how you want to see it grow. Nick turned around and had me on the show. That's how GOD works.

One of the most UNDERRATED genius' is Byron Allen. Genius. Mogul. Comedian, Actor, Creator, Producer, Network. He has created several shows and keep comedians as well as Black people working. Comics Unleashed, especially the "Hot Chocolate" series is genius and I had a great time doing the show twice.
