THE KINGS OF COMEDY TOUR - 1998
GUY TORRY was the original KINGS of COMEDY host even though he had only five years experience under his belt. He referred himself as the PRINCE of the KINGS of COMEDY tour. It was GUY TORRY, CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER, STEVE HARVEY and BERNIE MAC.
KINGS OF COMEDY GETS AN UPGRADE
GUY TORRY was doing well on the tour. The guys chose him because of his style, respect of the craft and how he could handle the large venues. GUY felt that he could get even better and did a pretty ballsy move and left the tour to hit the club circuit. He also booked an Action/ Drama television show that was paying 10 times as much. as the tour. The KINGS OF COMEDY creator WALTER LATHAM then chose veteran comedian DL HUGHLEY to join the line-up.
KINGS OF COMEDY REUNION
In 2016 the STEVE HARVEY talk show did a KINGS OF COMEDY reunion show and tribute to the late BERINIE MAC. STEVE personally requested GUY to the producers to appear on the show since he was the original host.
